Vesica Press is not only a publisher. It is a community of practitioners - writers, researchers, artists - who are working in the same difficult territory and want somewhere to think together. People who suspect the current paradigms are failing. People who believe that creative making produces genuine knowledge and are tired of being told otherwise. People who want to be part of changing what counts as knowledge and how it is made.

There are several ways to be part of it.

The press's public thinking voice. Each essay asks a question the journal is organised around - about knowledge, about the failing paradigms, about what the new forms of writing and research are actually doing. Not conclusions. Opening moves in a conversation.

Free to read. Patron subscribers receive additional content and can continue the conversation in the Vesica Discord.

The Substack asks the questions publicly. The Discord is where patrons, contributors and practitioners take them further in real time, with the same seriousness the journal brings to the work.

The Vesica Discord is an intellectual and literary community organised around the questions the press is asking - and the work it is publishing.

A place to think together - about what creative making knows, where the current paradigms are failing, what the new forms of writing and research are actually doing, and what becomes possible when the categories break down. But also: what the poem is doing, what the prose is reaching for, what the work knows that the maker does not yet.

The community is for everyone working seriously in this territory -researchers, poets, hybrid writers, artists, critics. The only requirement is that you take the work seriously.

Patrons are inside the project. Their support is what makes it possible to keep the press editorially independent, to pay contributors, and to publish the work that cannot find a home anywhere else.
